EWI: Good Work and a Good Place to Work

November 13, 2012

EWI is well known for what we do here – cutting-edge research in materials joining, state-of-the-art laboratory testing and analysis, in-depth design reviews and onsite assessments that optimize our customers’ efficiencies, capabilities, and competitiveness.

But what we have here is pretty remarkable, too. In the past year, EWI has been recognized by three outside organizations for its dedication to the well-being of its own staff and to providing an exceptional place to work.

Back in the spring, EWI landed on the top 10 “Best Employers in Ohio” for the second year in a row. This designation from the Society of Human Resource Management gave credit to the company for promoting a supportive workplace and motivating environment for the EWI Associates employed here.

Then, in September, EWI’s Jim Tighe was named “CFO of the Year for Small Businesses” by Columbus Business First magazine. This came as no surprise to his colleagues. Jim has been a great proponent of sharing business information with Associates, and educating everyone about EWI and its business. He is a master communicator who helps everyone here feel knowledgeable and empowered.

And finally, as icing on the cake (so to speak), the American Heart Association congratulated EWI by naming us a Gold Level “Fit Friendly Worksite.” It’s nice recognition of recent efforts to increase productivity and save costs by boosting employee health and wellness, and it reflect EWI’s consideration toward its Associates.

Good stuff in, good stuff out. We hope that the satisfaction our Associates feel at EWI is reflected in the work we do and the service we provide to our members and customers.
