EWI and ITW Miller Hobart are pleased to announce that we will host a Joint Intermediate Meeting of the International Institute of Welding (IIW) in Columbus, Ohio, April 8-10. The IIW is an international group, represented by engineers, academics and scientists from over 50 countries, that meets to further the science and application of welding engineering in its many guises. EWI (along with AWS and WRC) is a sustaining member of IIW in the USA.
The program will bring together two Commissions and one Special Group (SG) of the IIW. Commission XII (Arc Processes and Production Systems) and Commission IV (Power Beam Processes) will meet jointly with SG 212 (The Physics of Welding) for two days of technical presentations along with social events and a tour of EWI. Representatives from many IIW member nations are expected to attend, and EWI and ITW Miller Hobart are proud to host this prestigious group of international welding experts. For more info contact Ian Harris, Technology Leader, Arc Welding, EWI (Technical Expert, Comm. XII) at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Annual Assembly of IIW rotates between member nations each year and this year will be held in Helsinki, Finland in July. More information about IIW events can be found by visiting www.iiwelding.org.
