EWI and CWB Group are pleased to introduce The American Welding Program, a multifaceted educational platform available to participants in the United States and its territories.

Combining EWI’s real-world experience and engineering expertise with CWB’s extensive training network and online resources, The American Welding Program (AWP) promises to provide enrollees with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the U.S. welding industry.
AWP offers a variety of learning options to meet the training needs of three different constituencies:
- Professionals in the industry, including welders, welding inspectors, and engineers who seek to expand their education, enhance their personal skills, and boost their career potential. There are many topics to choose from, and most of the trainings can be completed through a flexible, web-based learning platform.
- Manufacturing and fabrication companies that want customized training courses for their employees. Drawing from both EWI and CWB resources, specialized courses can be formulated to address internal workforce needs such as retraining or advanced skills upgrading. Different formats are available to accommodate customer companies including online self-study, in-person instruction, or a combination of the two.
- College and high school students, i.e., the “workforce of the future.” AWP has developed a comprehensive curriculum in welding and metal fabrication that can be deployed in secondary and post-secondary settings. AWP curriculum was developed to align with AWS SENSE, but has not been developed, reviewed, or approved by AWS.
If you have questions about the program or wish to establish a new training initiative now at your company, contact Cody Vigeant at [email protected]. You can also learn more about the program by visiting www.americanweldingprogram.org.
