Advance Your Skills with EWI’s Fundamentals of Welding Engineering Course

Are you ready to advance your career in welding engineering? EWI’s Fundamentals of Welding Engineering Course is designed to provide engineers and technicians with a comprehensive understanding of welding technology. This five-day course, scheduled for April 28-May 2, 2025, will teach attendees to qualify a welding procedure to meet the ASME Section IX and AWS D1.1: Structural Welding Code – Steel requirements. 

Course topics cover welding processes, including resistance and solid-state, laser, and most arc welding processes; welding design and mechanical testing; welding metallurgy and weldability; and nondestructive evaluation. In addition to class lectures, the course includes hands-on arc welding of test plates, inspection of welds, and demonstrations of other welding processes. During the final day, attendees will complete procedure qualification records, welding procedure specifications, and welder qualification test records to meet the requirements of both codes.
