The first-ever Women in Welding Conference will be held on March 25, 2021. This virtual event, sponsored by AWS, features several women prominent in the welding industry who will share their career stories, successes, and challenges. The one-day program concludes with a panel discussion addressing specific topics that women in welding face.
EWI Welding Engineer and AWS Counselor, Nancy Porter is one of the conference co-organizers. “The line-up of speakers is spectacular,” she said. “These women are true rock stars of the welding world, with a list of amazing accomplishments. In a field that is predominantly male, their achievements highlight the contributions of women and serve to inspire others who want to pursue welding as a career path.”
The conference is open to the public and offers the opportunity to earn 4 professional development hours (PDH). Porter encourages those interested to check out the full program and register as soon as possible. The event is free to students, but all participants must register in advance.
