Cooperative Research Program
Do you want full access to EWI’s resources and services?
The EWI Cooperative Research Program gives participants exclusive access to guide research and development projects – funded and performed by EWI – and one-on-one collaboration opportunities with engineers and industry experts to tackle your organization’s toughest manufacturing challenges.
As a Cooperative Research Program (CRP) participant, you’ll have direct access to our internal research and development process, manufacturing process expertise, technical competence, and most importantly, our people. You will be matched with a dedicated technology advisor who understands your industry and can connect you with experts who will help tackle your specific challenges.
We offer several levels of participation in the CRP, each with its own unique benefits, allowing you to select the level that best fits your organization’s needs.
EWI Cooperative Research Program Benefits
As a participant in the CRP, your organization will be able to guide cutting-edge internal research and development initiatives and receive project details before the technology is commercially available, allowing you to access the latest innovations before your competition. Your participation also includes personalized, confidential access to our subject matter experts, in addition to the knowledge transfer and networking impact of a traditional materials science and engineering association membership. These benefits extend to your entire organization, helping you avoid product development pitfalls and be more confident in your innovations.
Advantages include but are not limited to the following:
Cooperative Research Projects
You’ll gain exclusive access to approximately 5 Cooperative Research Projects annually – funded and performed by EWI.
Silver and Gold participant levels receive voting rights to influence our technological development and free copies of all final reports. All levels of CRP participation receive project details and can attend both in-person and virtual reporting sessions at no additional cost
Technical Inquiries
You and your entire team can submit technical inquiries to EWI’s engineering staff throughout the year (Note: each inquiry is capped at 2 hours of staff time). You can place inquiries anytime via [email protected], phone, fax, or through our Online Portal.
Design Reviews
CRP participants can request a design review at one of our locations for a consultation with subject matter experts. Each four-hour review matches you with two EWI engineers who are qualified to discuss your specific technical design, questions, or issues, and provide confidential recommendations.
Library: Literature Searches and Article Retrievals
With access to more than 30 million abstracts, EWI librarians can provide CRP participants with a quick overview of publications related to their technology, materials, or process issue(s). Participants can also request the articles they wish to receive, and our library will deliver them. There is no charge to participating companies for this service.
Exclusive CRP Communications
In monthly newsletters, participants get access to exclusive research reports, technical papers, industry news, and insider views. Participants are also invited to special events, seminars, and presentations. These advantages aren’t offered in a typical manufacturing engineer society – and we’re offering them to your entire team!
Cyber Risk Assessment
A free Cyber Risk Assessment is available to CRP participants through the National Association of Manufacturers Cyber Cover program. This service evaluates your company’s vulnerability and identifies weaknesses that could make you a target for hackers.
CRP Participant Online Portal
On our secure website accessible only to CRP participants, you can access the EWI Library to search for technical papers or request custom searches, view exclusive content, submit technical inquires, and submit design review requests.
Engineering Site Visit
Take advantage of a full-day, onsite consultation from an EWI technical specialist. Services can include design reviews, process evaluations, manufacturing audits, and technical guidance. We also provide a summary of findings, identified opportunities, and recommended next steps.
