EWI has been busy preparing for a distinguished visitor.  On the heels of President Obama’s State of the Union address earlier this week, the Ohio Chamber of Commerce and EWI are hosting a roundtable discussion at EWI, which will feature U.S. Commerce Secretary, John Bryson.  Secretary Bryson will speak on the support of American manufacturers and will be involved in a roundtable discussion with about 50 local business  leaders.

During the visit, Secretary Bryson will also tour EWI and will witness some of EWI’s latest manufacturing technologies, including Laser Paint Stripping, AcousTech™ Machining, EWI AdvanceWelder, and more.

You will find the official press release related to the event below.

Secretary will Tour Manufacturing Facility and Meet with Local Business Leaders

WASHINGTON – On Friday, January 27, three days after attending the President’s State of the Union address, Commerce Secretary and former CEO John Bryson will travel to Columbus, Ohio, where he will tour Entrotech, a manufacturing facility, and meet with local business leaders.  The Secretary will also give brief remarks at EWI, about the Department of Commerce’s focus on supporting American manufacturers so they are able to build their products in America and sell them everywhere around the globe. Following his remarks, the Secretary will attend a closed-press State of the Union/White House Business Council Roundtable discussion with business leaders.

Secretary Bryson was recently named by the President to co-chair the White House Office of Manufacturing Policy to help better coordinate policy across the entire administration. The Commerce Department also helps support manufacturers in several ways, including recently creating the National Advanced Manufacturing Partnership Program Office to bring together stakeholders and drive investments in advanced manufacturing.  And through the Department’s trade specialists – serving all 50 states and located in more than 70 countries – Commerce works daily to connect U.S. businesses looking to export with buyers overseas.
