Last month EWI issued “Developing a U.S. Roadmap for Advanced Joining and Forming Technologies,” an overview describing the comprehensive NIST-funded study conducted by EWI to identify and prioritize the top joining and forming challenges within the manufacturing industry.
To share the results and recommendations of this timely report, EWI will present an online seminar, Introducing a National Roadmap for the Future of Materials Joining and Forming, on April 18, 2017, at 1:00 pm EDT. This free webinar will review the cross-industry canvassing methods employed in developing the roadmap, discuss the key needs identified by industry, and prioritize the research topics designed to address those needs.
Topics to be discussed include:
• How the roadmap was developed: activites and methodology
• Key gaps and needs identified by industry and other stakeholders
• Prioritized research & development topics identified to close gaps
• EWI’s Grand Challenge initiative to address industry gaps and enhance U.S. manufacturing competitiveness
The webinar will be presented by Technology Director Tom McGaughy. In addition to managing EWI’s senior technical staff and research portfolio, McGaughy has served as the lead for the Roadmap study throughout the project. The hour-long session will include opportunities for Q&A during and after the presentation.
Please join EWI for Introducing a National Roadmap for the Future of Materials Joining and Forming on Tuesday, April 18, at 1:00 pm. Participation is free, but registration is required due to space limitations. To sign up for the webinar today, click here.
