EWI developed an automated, laser-based system to inspect welds on the internal diameter of risers and casings for the oil and gas industry. We teamed up with a member company who manufactures internal line-up clamps for pipeline welding and integrated our laser inspection device with their clamping hardware. The result is EWI’s harsh environment, laser, and video inspection system (HELVIS).
