Cutting-edge Coal Technology Showcase

June 14, 2012

The Coal Utilization Research Council (CURC) is co-sponsoring a technology showcase and congressional staff briefing from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 20th, 2012 at the Capitol View Business & Conference Center, located at 101 Constitution Ave. NW in Washington D.C.

The purpose of the “Cutting-Edge Coal Technology Showcase: A Pathway to Enhanced Coal Utilization” event is to provide industry with an opportunity to display and discuss an array of cutting-edge advanced coal technologies. Additionally, it is an opportunity for CURC to brief attendees on the findings of the CURC-EPRI Technology Roadmap, which identifies technologies that, if developed, will ensure coal continues to provide economic, environmental, and energy security benefits to the nation.

The goal of this event is to increase awareness among Congressional staff, federal policymakers, industry and other interested stakeholders about the opportunities afforded by the development of advanced coal technologies. Specifically, the aim is to educate the government on the A-USC boiler projects and to show how the A-USC Consortia projects, which EWI has been involved in, have the potential to create new jobs –something of great interest in the State of Ohio.
