National Manufacturing Day, held on Friday, October 7, brought 60 students from three schools to EWI. The students, ranging from sixth through twelfth grade, enjoyed presentations from EWI CEO Henry Cialone, Applications Engineer Mitch Matheny, and PAST Foundation President Annalies Corbin. Cialone gave an overview of EWI and the current state of manufacturing in the United States. Matheny taught the group about his recently developed new ultrasonic package sealing technology. Corbin’s presentation focused on STEM education and the endless career opportunities available to today’s students.
EWI also welcomed Ohio Senator Kris Jordan (R- District 19) and representatives from the Ohio Development Services Agency. Five tours of EWI’s facility were conducted, and EWI affiliate Fabrisonic provided cake—a big hit with the students!
The Ohio Development Services Agency also presented EWI with a proclamation from Ohio Governor John Kasich.
