On Friday, May 9, EWI participated in the Annual Government Day sponsored by the Columbus Chamber of Commerce. Business
leaders and government officials had the opportunity to connect and discuss issues that are key to the Columbus community.
The program included round-table discussions throughout the day on business-critical topics including education, government spending, local development services, tax reform, and workforce development.
The highlight of the day was the keynote address by U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown, who was introduced by EWI President and CEO Henry Cialone and OSU Interim President Joe Alutto. Senator Brown, often described as “Congress’ leading proponent of American manufacturing,” spoke about the success of Columbus and Ohio in creating new jobs in high growth industries and the ways that the region can continue to do so.
