Work has been done to evaluate advanced corrosion resistant alloys (CRAs) for fatigue critical applications. To date, this effort has been focused on deep water applications such as drilling, workover, and production risers. This paper summarizes the results of several fatigue tests performed on 254-mm (10-in.) diameter 14-mm (0.55-in) wall SAF 2507 pipe. Both full scale fatigue and strip specimen fatigue tests were evaluated. When compared to historical data, these tests exceeded the expected fatigue life for girth welds in the as-welded condition in high cycle fatigue tests.
