New EWI member Polyflow offers a sustainability technology that diverts the mixed polymer waste that presently goes to our landfills and uses it, in place of crude oil, to make valuable fuels and the base chemicals to make virgin polymers. This technology allows the US to capture the $37 billion worth of oil that is dumped into landfills each year in the form of waste plastics and rubber. These materials have previously not been recyclable due to the high cost of sorting and cleaning the polymers. The Polyflow process eliminates the need for cleaning and sorting by polymer type. For more information on this technology, please visit the Polyflow website.
