Recently Published: Multiphysics Modeling of a Welded Furnace Roll for Improving Creep-Fatigue Life

Congratulations to EWI principal engineers Yu-Ping Yang and Bill Mohr for their published article in the November 2016 issue of Welding Journal.   In their article “Multiphysics Modeling of a Welded Furnace Roll for Improving Creep-Fatigue Life,” the authors applied heat-transfer analysis, creep-fatigue analysis, and computational fluid dynamics to understand the failure of a welded roll in a continuous coating line and proposed three solutions to improve the creep-fatigue lifetime.
