EWI welcomes Synapse Biomedical, Inc. (SBI) as a new member company. SBI was founded in 2002 to commercialize the NeuRx Diaphragm Pacing System® that has been developed over a 20-year period at Case Western Reserve University and the University Hospitals of Cleveland. This innovative research has led to significant advances in state-of-the-art electrical stimulation for the treatment of chronic respiratory insufficiency.
