Jose Ramirez was presented the W. H. Hobart Award at the 2011 FABTECH Awards luncheon on November 15th in recognition for his paper on “Hot Ductility Behavior and Repair Weldability of Service-Aged, Heat-Resistant Stainless Steel Castings” that was published in the Welding Journal in October 2010. The paper was co-authored with S. Shi and J. C. Lippold.
The W. H. Hobart Award is given to the author of the paper published in the Welding Journal during the previous calendar year that describes the best contribution to pipe welding, the structural use of pipe or similar applications, excluding the manufacture of pipe. This award is in memory of William J. Hobart, Sr., and is sponsored by the Hobart Brothers Company.
