The NFC held our fall meeting in conjunction with ATI’s Corrosion Solutions Conference 2011 in Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada last week. For those of you that were unable to attend, I wanted to pass along a summary of events. This was ATI’s 8th Corrosion Solutions Conference and the first time that a Nuclear Material Summit was added to the conference. The nuclear portion of the conference began on Wednesday afternoon and continued throughout the day on Thursday and was well attended on both days. Of the 16 papers presented during the nuclear sessions, 10 of the papers were given either by NFC members or on NFC specific projects. In general, I think the nuclear portion of the conference both showcased our NFC members and provided them ample opportunity to network with others in the oil, gas, chemical processing, and specialty manufacturing industries.
