EWI Forming Center Expands Technical Capabilities, Hosts Workshop

The EWI Forming Center is focused on developing innovative forming processes, tooling, and equipment to increase the competitiveness of U.S. manufacturers, and strives to provide a valuable technology, knowledge, and training base for industry. Since its launch in 2012, the Center has conducted a number of innovative research projects, and has continuously grown its capabilities. In a recent review, EWI Forming Center Technical Director Hyunok Kim describes current and future research topics including the Center’s push to further expand its technical capabilities by developing an intelligent servo-controlled forming process. An overview of the Center’s 6th annual workshop Advanced Sheet Metal Forming Technology – Issues and Applications, co-hosted with The Ohio State University’s Center for Precision Forming (OSU-CPF) in October, is also provided.
