Most manufactures drive towards continuous process improvement to reduce costs, increase production, increase quality, innovate, and ultimately increase sales and profit. The seven Ohio Edison Technology Centers located throughout Ohio have been established for the purpose of assisting Ohio manufacturers to achieve that goal.
The centers, which include EWI, BioOhio, CIFT, EMTEC, MAGNET, Polymer OH, and TechSolve, provide a variety of product and process innovation and commercialization services to both established and early-stage manufacturing and technology-based businesses such as new product design; prototyping; materials selection and handling; process improvement, plant layout and design; quality systems; advanced machining; joining technology assistance; workplace development and training and biotechnology business consulting.
Each center is responsible for taking a leadership role to sustain and grow different segments of the Ohio economy in addition to the overarching services referenced above. Additionally, each has Federal Manufacturing Extension Partnership designation – do you know what that means to you, an Ohio manufacturer?
